Lunar 2-Ronfar-Roll the Bones

Random Stuff

Three out of five finals are now officially out of the way and over with. I'm not sure that I did that well; this quarter seemed to be...well, I don't want to say difficult, because it wasn't. I just didn't have the energy or the excitement I had last quarter. I really didn't apply myself to the fullest extent. I'm embarrassed of that fact; when I started this program, I promised myself that I'd actually make an effort. Not to say that I've failed...no, but I most likely won't be on the Dean's list again this quarter.

Oh well, such is life, right?

Anyway, I started planting tonight. Yes, everything I plant is legal. Yes, I know it's lame for a 22 year old (going on 23) to be growing vegetables. I enjoy it. So there.

Later, folks.

Lunar 2-Ronfar-Roll the Bones

C'est la vie...or something like that.

So, I found out a couple of days ago that an ex of mine got married. Well, it was really the first girl I ever dated, intermittently during my freshman/sophomore years. Well, she was a manipulative @#$%# who treated me like #@#%, cheated on me twice, and spread nasty rumors about me throughout the school community, even going so far as to telling another girl I was seeing (another manipulative @#$%^...I didn't have that good a record during high school) stuff such as that I was "her property," that I'd get back with her in a second, and even went so far as to give her a description of a certain part of my anatomy that she...well, she really didn't have much clue as to what she was talking about (my dad calls that "talking out one's arse"...but replaces the word arse with something else entirely).

Not only that, she married my brother's best friend who I also consider a close friend.

Who is also the guy she cheated on me with the first time around, freshman year.

Ah, small town drama. Don't you just love it?

It's been quite some time since I've dealt with that chapter in my life, and it's been quite some time since I've gotten over it and moved on. Years, we're talking about. I guess I still harbor some resentment, though. I mean, she used me, made me look like a fool, hurt me, etc. I tend to harbor resentment to those who betray me. It's a weakness that hopefully some day I'll be able to overcome, but not as of yet. Stab me in the back, and I'll quietly scheme your eventual demise. >D

I guess I have sort of mixed emotions about the whole thing. I mean, if the two of them are happy together, then all the best to them. This world is in dire need of more happiness. Then again, there's the whole "stabbed me in the back almost a decade ago" angle.

Wow, it's been almost eight years now. Hot dang do I feel old.

Meh, back on track.

I guess I'm just glad that I can sit back and look back on this part of her life (and my life as well) as a detached spectator rather than an involved party.

Well, I've really come to look at it this way. I've been through a lot of hardship in my life, both thanks to and no thanks to her. It's made me a much better person. I was naive in my youth; I believe I have better insight to a person and his or her intentions now. I'm much stronger (once again, both thanks and no thanks to her), much more centered, and much happier. I have a wonderful life with a woman whom I love quite dearly.

I guess, in the end, that it's a story that somewhat perks my interest. I grew up in a small town...gossip is in my blood.

It's not one, however, that deserves more than an brief shrug and a small LJ post.

Good night, folks. And good luck.

Das First Entry

Oooh, my first entry in my new, shiny LJ.  I'm somewhat excited!

I would've solved the problem long ago; the only thing that stood in my way was that my hard drive crashed last weekend.  Fortunately, my computer was still under warranty and the fools at Best Buy took care of the problem for me.  Well, they did, but it took them forever.

I took it in around 10:30AM on Tuesday morning.  They told me the job would take about three and a half hours.  I was happy; I'd have my computer back and everything re-installed before I had to be at Soil Fertility class that night.

Didn't happen.  I called around 6, and they told me that they had just started on it, but it would be done that night and ready for pickup in the morning.

Somewhat didn't happen.  I went in Wednesday afternoon in between classes, and they had replaced the hard drive but hadn't installed my OS yet.  They said it would take about two hours to install the OS and my drivers, and that they would call when it was done.

Didn't happen.

So, I finally went in this afternoon after work and the computer was somewhat finished.  They had the OS installed, and all of the drivers save for my video card and wireless card.  So, instead of waiting another day or so, I just took the computer home and did it myself.

The good thing is they replaced my 200GB hard drive with a 320GB one.  Pretty sweet.

Anyway, the computer is back and running.  Happy times!
